Decent Review by Luke
Kit arrived promptly, body was nice, good grain so just a sand and tru-oil finish required, neck was surprisingly good too. One of the pickups was slightly damaged on arrival but KBG sent a replacement out straight away so no complaints there. My only complaint is the control cavity cover, it simply does not properly fit. Normally I wouldn’t have thought it a problem as I would have happily ordered a replacement part, however after HOURS searching for a suitable replacement I have come to the conclusion it going to have to make one that sits in the cavity on magnets and so I have ordered a sheet of ash for this. However the area is curved so will take a lot of work to make it right and will not be simple. Aside from that though a great kit bass. (Posted on 4/12/2019)
Great kitReview by Rotorama
When my kit arrived, I saw the body had a crack right underneath the pickups cavities. After I sent a picture to KitBuiltGuitars they replied within a few hours and told me that they had sent a new one. Great service!

Build was great, with a single remark: I found that the 8 coil springs (presumed to be for mounting the pickups) were way too long. Compressing them around the end of the screw (which goes through the pickup) leaves almost no thread for fixing the screw. I found that cutting them in half made it possible to install the pickups and still have some spring action to set them up later.

Other than that, really happy with my wood finish. 4 layers of danish oil gave the body a warm hue and accentuated the grain. The wood wax (carnabau and bees wax mix) rubbed on and buffed lightly gave exactly the smooth and satin gloss finish I was looking for.

The neck turned out super slick, gave it 1 layer of danish oil and a good buff with wood wax. I gave the headstock a custom made logo with waterslide decal paper (8 micrometers) and buried it in satin gloss lacquer from a spray can.

Learning Review by Paul
Got this as a gift. This is a great way to learn how your bass works, how to woodwork, paint and solder. Everything easy to figure out as long as you take your time! (Posted on 8/20/2015)
Excellent!Review by AllAboutBass
I really enjoyed building this kit, it was my first build and I was a little nervous but it really wasn't difficult. I left mine as is rather than painting it as the wood looked great! Also nice to have 24 frets! Would recommend (Posted on 2/5/2013)
